Prize “The European Cathedrals” to Paolo Zellini
On Friday 23 October 2015, h. 17,30, prof. Paolo Zellini will be awarded of the prize “The European Cathedrals”, organized by the cultural association Eureka. The awarding ceremony will take place at the Sala Capitolare of the Library of the Senate of the Italian Republic (Piazza Santa Maria della Minerva, 38 – Rome).
Paolo Zellini, member of the Scientific Committee of the Research Center “Forms of Knowledge in the Ancient World”, and according to Italo Calvino “one of the major writers of the 20th and the 21th centuries”, is author of the international bestseller A Brief History of Infinity and of other important essays on the relationships between Mathematics and the other humanities.
On occasion of the awarding ceremony prof. Zellini will give the lectio magistralis “When Gods Began to Number”, in which he will examine the close links between mystical theology and Mathematics.
