Federicomaria Muccioli is Associate Professor of ancient Greek history at the University of Bologna. His research interests span from the cult of heroes in the Greek world to the political and social history of Hellenism, with special attention to the tyrannies and the rulers of Sicily and the Great Greece during the classical and early Hellenistic age; he has also plublished several studies on Plutarch and on ancient biography. Among his most recent publications there are the volume Gli epiteti ufficiali dei re ellenistici (Stuttgart 2013) and the edited book Divinizzazione, culto del sovrano e apoteosi. Tra Antichità e Medioevo (Bologna 2014).
